The sleek lines of the power transfer station at Pangani Falls in Tanganyika (Tanzania) highlight processes of industrialization and modernization unfolding within the country in the late 1950s. The neatly ordered electrical transfer wires, freshly mown grass, and clean white cement pads all suggest an order and control at odds with the natural landscape.
