Picasso published The Dream and Lie of Franco with a surrealistic poem in which he detailed the cruelty and barbarism of Fascist leader General Francisco Franco during the Spanish civil war. A reproduction of Picasso's hand-written text in Spanish was accompanied by translations in both French and English.
