Gui (ritual food vessel)

5 year Art in Bloom participant

Floral Products Used: orchid, tulip, hydrangea, eucalyptus, bear grass, aspidistra

Food and Community enticed me to Gui ("gooey” as in cheese or chocolate!). Immersion brought wondrous dreams of dragons, alchemy, and wisdom. Patience and willingness to let go of my busy life arose, and Dragon “rapt” me in a treasure trove.

Floral Arrangement Inspired by...

squat vessel with tall foot; rounded body with outward-flaring rim; pair of handles with animal heads and tab-like bottom extensions; vertical incised ribs on body; top band has a pair of dragons each with two serpentine bodies; bottom band has stylized animals; green patina
