Fortune Spirol

The design for this bag was inspired by the subway system in Stockholm, Sweden and pulls the color palette of pastel salmon, lavender, mint and white found in the Morby Centrum underground station. This piece is a handcrafted reversible leather backpack, with diagonal pastel stripes on one side, connecting to the opposite side where the stripes are horizontal. Above the horizontal stripes showcases the architectural insignia logo for the Minneapolis based minimal leather goods brand, Montgomery Collection. This drawstring backpack cinches at the top and includes details of the stripes on one side of the pull strings. The interior is lined in grey suede, soft to the touch and will protect all of your belongings held inside. Worn on either the diagonal or horizontal side, this backpack is a functional piece of art.

Look on the Bright Side

A piece of fabric that has a repeating pattern of irregular oval shapes. The oval shapes are white and the background of the fabric is medium-dark, soft blue. The pattern is irregular and the blue color seeps into the white oval shapes on each shape. Along each rectangle's border, there are dotted lines.

This piece was created by fulling teal blue wool by agitating it in hot water, then over dyeing it by first tightly wrapping a covering over it that allowed the original color to remain while the exposed sections had color removed, then dyeing in the rust color that forms the grid patterning.  The wood frame was painted copper with a border made of three strands of yarn, some with metallic and sequin highlights.

Secret Pocket

A 3-dimensional wet-felted fish treated with many layers of Norwegian wool roving. A plastic resist was placed in the center of the shape about halfway through the felting process so that it could be cut to reveals the "insides" of the fish.
