A one-eighth-scale diorama of a carpeted living room. A miniature floor lamp lights the interior and a miniature tv displays an image of the COVID-19 virus. There is a window covered with colorful paper hearts taped to the glass.

Midnite Mine

Strips of cut sheetrock pieces, glued and screwed together to be mounted on the wall. Yellow repeats the yellow collages that started my series that explore communication.

Foot of Memories

A display of heart shaped crop art with the word VOTE spelled out in black beans, children's art and another crop art in the shape of the United States with the word WELCOME.  On the top of the heart is a visiting live  woodpecker, getting a snack.  All the art is on a garden trellis.

Red Poppy Monrovian Star

A mixed-medium portrait of local drag queen, Mexica Xadows, surrounded by dahlias, Mexico's national flower, which both depicts Mexica's pride in their Mexican culture, and to juxtapose the powerful pose and dress of Mexica. This is part of a series of portraits of local drag queens. 

Portrait of Mexica Xadows

An encaustic painting of a desert background with a photo of a zebra printed on tissue paper and embedded into the encaustic wax medium. Sienna pigmented wax dots were added in vertical columns and horizontal rows to add texture to the piece and highlight the zebra. 

Serengeti Stroll

Another Scene

During COVID quarantine this past spring, when school was all virtual, Dylan (age 5) did a lot of paint-by-stickers.  This was a great opportunity for creative activities by counting numbers and great eye-hand coordination.

A mosaic of a cocktail, filled with lemons and oranges, in a transparent glass made from opaque Italian glass (Smalti) created in the traditional mosaic style. 

Gin & Tonic

Scales of the Koi fish are cut out the fins and head is etched in relief. There are separate color sequences projected in the scales and on each separate section of the fishshape and outside
