This painting is based on the ancient Celtic church door guardians that portray the prehistory carvings of the cranky Earth mother called the Sheila-na-gig. This stylized Sheila is a black, red and yellow line on white painted canvas depicted with basic circles, triangles, nashing teeth, and huge feet.

My arm is reaching out from the right edge of the picture plane to shake the hand of the shadow of a figure reflected on the ground. His tennis shoed feet are visible from the lower-left corner of the picture. The light in the image shows that it is a sunny day and yet, shaking the hand of a shadow reminds us of our isolation.

Reverie is a vivid, dreamlike representation of a person sitting under a large tree at night with a full moon in the sky. The branches of the tree enfold themselves to form a heart shape and an aura expresses the spiritual energy emmanating from the living thing itself. I used blues and red purples to create an introspective mood.
