Hampar's basket

Silk thread stitched on a substrate that I created from animal membrane (gut) and used dryer sheets; intuitively stiched on various days to represent my mood. First page of 4 pages.

A wool tapestry of a little bird in various colors of blue, standing at the edge of the seashore.  Special tapestry technique includes color gradations created by splitting the 4-ply wool strands and re-twisting them into new color combinations to then be woven into the tapestry.

A woman with three eyes looks at the viewer. Her hair is made of fabric scraps and embroidered bones. 

Set the World on Fire

A sculpted bust of a veiled woman made from wool that looks like marble. The wind appears to be blowing the fabric against her face and the rest is billowing away from her. The veil reveals beneath the illusion of translucent folds half of her face is classicly beautiful and the other half is her skull.

Doubleweave line design with cotton yarn. Lines are in black with a multiple color background.  Dark, but also bright.

Look on the Bright Side

An original pattern of a unicorn handcrafted throughout created from 100% cotton print fabric with polyester fill toy-decorative accessory.

Carrie's Unicorn

This piece was created by fulling teal blue wool by agitating it in hot water, then over dyeing it by first tightly wrapping a covering over it that allowed the original color to remain while the exposed sections had color removed, then dyeing in the rust color that forms the grid patterning.  The wood frame was painted copper with a border made of three strands of yarn, some with metallic and sequin highlights.
