Dark Circus

This canvas was first painted gold and after letting it dry, I squeezed out red acrylic in a gestural manor. I think I achieved a cool composition with little re-work. I love the raised texture of red lines and blobs on gold.

Langton Lake

This is an 8 X 10 abstract painting. I was working with acrylic and metallic based acrylic paints  which results in vivid and vibrant almost iridescent colors. The painting has a "wind shear" quality with swaths of Copper,  Azul, and crimson yellow.  A light dusting of glitter gives the work a hint of sparkle in the proper light

Emergence from yesterday

Portrait of a young woman who is from modern times, but carries a Renaissance look to her. The background painted with a rich Napthol Red, enhanced with horizontal lines of gold leaf that serve as a stark contrast to set off the three-quarter view portrait. The thin layers of paint over a grisaille underpainting create realism to the features of the face and the captivating blue eyes draw the viewer in for a closer look; wondering what the woman is seeing, feeling, and thinking.
