Pondering with hopeful anticipation, chin on hand, eyes wide open

Canvas and paper strips were applied to a stretched canvas creating a rough, uneven surface which was then painted with acrylic using reds, Naples yellow and both creamy and bright white. A half strip of light blue serves as an accent.

This is an 8 X 10 abstract painting. I was working with acrylic and metallic based acrylic paints  which results in vivid and vibrant almost iridescent colors. The painting has a "wind shear" quality with swaths of Copper,  Azul, and crimson yellow.  A light dusting of glitter gives the work a hint of sparkle in the proper light

Groot is a comic book character from Marvel  comics. I was excited to watch this comic book character turn into a blockbuster hit “Guardians of the Galaxy.” 
My favorite part of this painting is Groots eyes. Please enjoy

With stripped paper providing the backdrop, Avery (age 4) used her fingers to paint pink, purple, blue, orange, and silver on the page.

The piece is in a black frame and is square. The background is a swirling psychedelic mix of teal, purple, yellow and red encaustic wax. The wax is mostly smooth but in some places there are areas of texture. In the top half there is a large scribble of black india ink that moves across the piece horizontally. On the right side of the scribble is a large open circle of india ink. On the bottom half there are ink transfers across the entire piece of vintage word plate in another language. Three dollops of gold foil dot the piece in a wide triangle.
