This artwork recalls the Rondo Neighborhood of St. Paul in the 1950's, before the construction of I-94 took homes and streets. The children ran to watch the drum and bugle corps and majorettes practice marching for community parades. I remember the Black teenage boys playing Semper Fidelis and the special African influenced dancing strut of the Black majorettes.
