This is one of my Selfie series, the only one that does not include me. I go to museums and galleries and take selfies of me with my favorite art- then recreate them in paint. Eduardo admired this painting of deKooning from the Chicago Institute of Art.

Reverie is a vivid, dreamlike representation of a person sitting under a large tree at night with a full moon in the sky. The branches of the tree enfold themselves to form a heart shape and an aura expresses the spiritual energy emmanating from the living thing itself. I used blues and red purples to create an introspective mood.

A painting done on location in Grand Marais, MN.  The view is from the rocks with the Sawtooth Mountains in the background. One interesting fact, since it was done on location, you can see small bugs that are stuck in the paint.

All Is Clear

Eastern Yellow Robin

Within a 10X10 inch area white transparency is intersected by a thin black line that exposes a flat grey plane of color. Beneath that are single square blocks of blue and tan. Words included are “to tell.”

Crossing boundaries 

A canvas painting stretched over a 12 x 12 x 12 hand made cube frame of abstract heavily washy textures centered with a circle or loop painted in a similar abstracted styling. All visible sides, five in total, are painted in the same style, each side in a different color; the front is a stark black and white; one side has some deep turquois added, the top has some deep red added, the bottom has some lime green added, and one side is black and white with accents of some yellow.

Non-Zero-Sum Cubed

One continuous thin line navigates across the entire work using only 90 degree angles and creating hundreds of overlapping box shapes, all varying in size and proportion; the line quality varies and appears hand painted.
