The Idea

A shiny, smooth, palm sized celadon blue-green ceramic clam object, with a spot of black carbon captured in its glaze, rests upon a small draped mound of seaweed knitted using narrow black linen paper yarn, all poised upon an inverted wood bento box.

Hamaguri

Close up face of a snow leopard. They blue eyes and orange nose are prominent features. The glaze has crackled away creating an abstract of the black and white spotted fur.

Scribed Storied Bowls

The piece is a thrown and altered ceramic vase. There's a wide thin horizontal lip similar to a hat rim. Below the rim is a broad shoulder that narrows down to the base and foot of the vase. On the front body there is an asymmetrical cross where the vase was hit which bi-secs the body and includes and folds down the rim in the front. This adds some unique interest points.

A porcelain square cast collage of the US flag.  The porcelain is cracked, the crack is filled with white resin.  Sits on a background of silicone and birch plywood.
