A repurposed wood bowl that has been ebru marbled with acrylic paint. 

Ebru Marbled Wood Bowl

This steel cube has a large swoosh cut out of the side, starting at two opposite corners and cutting a large arc deep into the cube.  Inside the cube is a ball suspended as if it is riding through the cut.  The sculpture is made of steel, and textured in patterns radiating around the cut. Negative Cube

A shallow glass abstract art bowl was made from square layers of white, sea green and cobalt blue glass fused together with heat and pressure. It represents an ocean view on a beautiful breezy day.

SPIRALS

Squared wood relief carving of four Chinese script characters, two on first row, two on second row. Raised cuts of each character are highlighted with dark rubbed oils, noting accenting side boarders of rippling designs framing the lighten grayish background of horizontal carver's cuts.

It is a 77 inch long bare branch of a tree that has been "folded" 31 times.

Cubical cage created with bakers cooling racks, now rusted, contains cluster of marble grapes, photograph of people at the seaside, tiny suspended photograph of a baby, antique color toy spinners hanging from the rack, face mask, many cobwebs. This sculpture has been exhibited in every Foot in the Door Show with elements added for each time it visited the MIA.

The sculpture consists of twenty thrrr 4” x 4” slices of sheet metal cut in a graduated curve along one edge that are welded together to create a relief sculpture. 

The sculpture rests upon a canvas patch with the artist’s logo. 

The sculpture is roughly cut and welded, and shows slight signs of tarnish and rust as well as evidence of the physicality of it’s creation and construction.

Arial's Garden Path

Based in the tradition of the Philosophical Instrument this work, a Conundra Object, is based upon an extraction of Kepler’s solar system model and a musing of what existed beyond his platonic “Celestial Spheres”.  Kepler's chrome sphere is supported by hand machined brass and copper supports with a plumb bob centered on space, flanked by illuminated display spheres under glass, circled by a rotating planetoid form, all mounted to a box base of various hardwoods.

An organic wall sculpture made of aluminum and encaustic paint (beeswax) relating to plants and flowers.

Bloom

A design of colored metal shapes using found objects. A vertical blue area bordered with orange and red-orange lines of metal attached with round head screws that make a pattern of dark dots. A small blue spring is held in place with an orange pipe in the shape of a ?. A big rusted white handle creates a negative space on the left side.

A Handle on Color

The seated female figure has her legs out in front of her with her hands by her side.  The bronze color is a golden tan.

Girl Seated

A sculpture of a red, dog-like creature with dark blue hatch-marks imitating fur along its entire body. The creature's snout is long, and its mouth is open, revealing yellow teeth and a lolling dark blue tongue. It's body is pierced by arrows and there are dark blue tears falling from its yellow eyes.

a resin sculpture of a goddess wearing only her chains, and the adornment her rose, moon phase, skull, and lip tattoos.

A bronze sculpture of a nude woman holding a bird in her hand, with birds in her hair and birds flying around her.  She is mounted on a rock from the Mississippi and nestled into our expansive strawberry patch.

Honeycomb Bees

This is a mixed media piece humorously expressing the panic at diving in to new and possibly dangerous experiences.  A bird fearfully watches as a group of fish playfully enjoy the water below. One fish invites the bird to join in the fun but, well, he would prefer to remain a bird out of water. 

Jump!

 A clear glass vase filled with approximately 1200 dimes which were retained from the artist's pocket change over the course of ten years.  A paper ribbon around the inside of the vase reads "Ten years ago he began to save every dime; ten cents times ten years, mementos of moments reflected in the smallness of one thin dime.  He knew life could turn on a dime but didn’t know the stories that would come, stories of family vacations, of family reunions, of patience, of divorce, of court dates, of first dates, of theater, of coffee, of bread and milk and eggs, of music, of the day he got his dog, of the day he lost his job, of the days he followed his dreams, stories of new friends, of travel, of graduations, of new clothes, of funerals, of wine, of art, of books, stories of loss and stories of love, stories remembered and stories forgotten, stories of a decade of a man’s life because he saved every dime."
