Streams Into Rivers

A painting of waves ebbing and flowing in the background. Your eye first travels to red hand that covers the survivor’s mouth while dripping in blood along with the black eye and tear drop. the cycles of abuse are violent and spontaneous, but yet can be loving and intoxicating.

Abstract

A small square painting of the face of the meme "wojak" overlaid onto the fist of the hand from the "arthur" meme. Essentially a strange face on a fist in the middle of the painting, taking up about 3/4ths of the surface. Background is a colorfield of imperfect triangles and squares, referencing visual elements from the meme series "advice animals". The fist color is a flat, somewhat faded purple color. The background shapes are dark blue, light blue, red, and light red, almost pink.

Becoming 

Dead Red-bellied Woodpecker in snow. I came across this bird in Minneapolis after a heavy snowfall. It is a species that has recently migrated north in warmer months but cannot winter in this climate. However due to the recent extended warm Autumns it remained in Minnesota and froze to death and fell from the tree branch into the snow where I found it.
