Pick a Pepper

This an oil painting, depicting a rural Minnesota landscape. The upper three-quarters of the painting showcase deepen colors of the sunset before they've given way to the scattered ambiance of the twilight. A lone railroad Hopper car sits next to some scrubby volunteer shrubbery between soybean fields. Its metal body reflecting a bit of the pink and orangy tones of the sunset while the backside of the rail car reflects the cooler notes of the sky behind us.

Geraniums

A January early evening street scene in Dublin, Ireland. Illumination from windows and street lamps. Multiple colored flags crisscrossing overhead. 4 People, one on a bicycle, on an otherwise empty street, flanked by 3-story buildings.

This piece was inspired by a fall trip up north, stopping at an overlook of Grand Portage on a dramatic cloudy sunrise. This piece is layered with colors and heavy gloss medium on a canvas board. With the many layers of color and medium I hoped to create a rich deep perspective of this superior view.

Spring Drsire

Coronado National Forest

A landscape-oriented painting with a somewhat light reddish-purple background. Occupying the space are three types of squash arranged into a composition. In the front is a bright yellow squash, and to its right and slightly behind is a white patty-pan squash. Both of these were grown at home by my mom. And in the back peeking over the two is a dark green buttercup squash from a farmers' market.

A square canvas, with bright shades of blended blue and blue green acrylic paint. Actual sand is painted onto the canvas which creates a sense of texture. The light within the color and the texture create a sense up upward movement to the right. It looks like blue water. 

Lake Superior Study

These are little children’s hands. The green peas are an offering from the wonderful garden of her daycare lady.

It's lightly raining. A small light green dragon with a gold colored belly and golden eyes crouches on a branch of a lilac bush, hiding from the rain under leaves. Steam is rising from the dragon's nostrils. Heavy drops of rain bend the leaves.
