The colors, textures, materials, and techniques of urban North African fabrics often reflect the influence of European sources and provide a dramatic contrast to the textiles produced in Sub-Saharan regions. Based on two of the motifs from Tropic of Capricorn, Fez effectively conveys the essence of the luxurious lampas weave fabrics that are prized in urban Moroccan culture.
