In this spoof on the excesses of courtly pageantry, the headgear of the jousting wild men indicates their loyalties. The beets (left) clash with the leeks (right). Through their extravagant plantlike armor, we catch a glimpse of the intense gaze of the beet jouster and the unfazed smile of the rider for the leeks.
