Joseph Pennell had a prolific career as an illustrator of books, stories, and travel articles for the Century Magazine and Scribner's Magazine. This pen and ink drawing of the artist English Pre-Rephaelite artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti's garden was printed in the Century Magazine in 1884.
