This delicate silvered-bronze sphere holds burning incense, which adds fragrance during ritual ceremonies. The interior has a mechanism that acts like a gyroscope and keeps the incense pot inside level and upright as the censor is swung about during ceremonies. The decoration consists of butterflies and chrysanthemums within a tendril pattern.
