Robe of blue satin embroidered with gold and silver threads couched with colored silks; green,red, blue, black. In the field; tight clouds, bats with the swastika, peonies and Taoist symbols. Conventional border of narrow, straight slanting stripes of alternating gold and sliver threads couched respectively in red and silver. Very narrow band of pinched clouds; shallow area of rolling waves in which appear Buddhist symbols of the Eight Precious Things, all in couched gold and silver threads. In the striped area of the border are large, single peony blossoms. Below border on sleeves a strip of brown satin striped with gold threads couched in red. Cuffs and collar band of black-brown satin embroidered with couched gold and silver threads in body designs. Narrow bound edges of bright blue and gold brocade. This robe has a standing collar above collar band. Robe slit at sides and lined with thin blue silk. Cuffs lined with blue damask in dragon medallion design. Note the sheen of color conveyed by the couching in colored silks.
