When engaging with her sitters, the photographer Cara Romero establishes a true collaboration. In this photograph, Romero depicts the Yup’ik artist, Golga Oscar in handmade regalia. In his work, Oscar wishes to bring together different approaches to artistic practice. Romero’s photograph presents him in this very act, as he bridges “traditional and contemporary arts.”
