Jeweled gold presentation box; surface chased with swastika fret design and cover bearing filigreed bamboo-tube drum and sticks, emblem of the Taoist philosopher Ch'ang Kuo Lao. The emblem is surrounded with delicately spun gold blossoms picked out with small cabochon rubies, sapphires, and jade. One of a set of eight presented to the emperor Ch'ien Lung in the 43rd year of his reign.
