Chō Tōsai used a dry brush to create a distinctive writing style that is rather round and rolling, giving the otherwise linear seal script an interesting sense of fluidity.
All together, from right to left, the triptych reads:
“River winds seek my chanting;
The mountain moon invites me to a feast;
Heaven and earth become my quilt and pillow.”
