This comical depiction of the beauty and the beast juxtaposes two popular characters from folk paintings and prints that were sold as souvenirs. The Wisteria Maiden steps on the back of a demon priest to pull a branch of wisteria, treating him as a footstool and ignoring his rapturous gaze.
