Tzedakah box for the Copenhagen Society for the Care of the Sick, 1901

Approximately 60 of these boxes were commissioned by the Tiferes Jedidim or Society for the Care of the Sick. The box exhibits the influence of German Art Nouveau, also known as Jugendstil, reflecting the design aesthetic of its day, a relatively rare phenomenon in early 20th century Judaica.
