pounded indigo jacket with open front; neckpiece has ribbon braid 8 1/2" long with inset on PL and on back of neck; tiny embroidered geometric applique in red and blue; yoke has red and blue striped floats and padded embroidery; sleeves have 2 vertical strips of padded embroidered flora and fauna separated by narrow horizontal rows of embroidery directly on sleeve fabric in red, green and blue; ribbon-like serpentine band separates yoke and sleeve; front is 5" longer than back, edges are raw on coat body; very similar to photo pg. 46 of "Clothing and Ornaments of China's Miao People"
