Igawa also creates leaf-shaped forms that can be embellished with metallic powders of various colors. He devised the uneven surface of this sculpture by aligning strips of thin bamboo (misudake). This irregularity, caused by the bamboo nodes, gives the piece the appearance of a bird’s wing.
